okay first off i love this series but this book in a way felt off, don’t get me wrong some parts were good, the wolven and the bond and the plot twists. however i feel like it was just written badly, in some chapters i felt like so much filler. parts felt off. i’m interested in what occurs after but this book is just something else. i hope the next will surpass this one.

I can’t tell you how much I have loved these books! The stories are familiar enough to imagine the concepts but with creative and interesting twists that captivate you. I also love that they are so long - I am a fast reader and these have kept me entertained for weeks without needing a break. I can’t wait for the next book!

Honestly…I’m at loss for words.

To say I’m excited for the fourth installment of this series is an understatement. I’m biting at the bit. Pulling my hair out. It’s an obsession. I’m really excited to see poppy break free of this “I have to keep my powers inside” version of herself that lasted about two and half books. I’m ready for revenge fueled poppy who takes and destroys and fights for her brother and the love of her life. To see her grow so much has been probably my all time favorite character development in any series I’ve read. So If like, you could release just a crumb of the next book, that’d be amazing, lol.

i don’t understand all the slander. this book is amazing. it gives a lot of helpful information and things are starting to come together. the ending is great too tho we are left with a cliffhanger it is one that is worth the weight for the next book and it sets the next book up for a good beginning

I seriously don’t get all of the bad reviews, this book did have a lot of dialogue and in the middle it seemed to drag but so did book 2. If your a fan of the series you learn so much in this book and I feel like it was a great gateway book to the rest of the series. It’s going to be a long excruciating wait for the next book

I kept wanting to like this book. Aside from the cliffhanger ending which I admit was great, the majority of the book was pretty boring. I even found myself wanting to skip portions just to get it over with but would keep reading just in case it got better.

I was engaged reading books 1 & 2 as the plot evolved naturally but this third book was a massive let down. I hope Armentrout can come back from this, the series had tremendous potential but this read offers nothing but poorly structured whiplash.

Okay, people are gonna hate me for this but... The sexual chemistry between Kieran Poppy and Casteel is astronomical. Anyway, this book was good, repetitive as other reviews have stated, (ironic- negative reviews about the repetition are getting repetitive) This book was a little slow and drawn out but a lot of crucial plot points happened amidst the chaotic repetition. I’d say it’s definitely worth the read if you’ve already invested your time in the first and second books.

I’ve been trying to get through this book for a week now. I’m over 600 pages in and I find myself skimming over paragraph after paragraph. I’m bored. I’ve read other reviews that say it’s the greatest but I just don’t see how. I will finish the book and hopefully I’ll enjoy the ending but honestly, even if she keeps writing more I can’t imagine I will purchase another.

The firsts 2 were really good. This felt rush. She could’ve finished the series in the 3rd book. Instead, I got repetitive dialogues. The protagonists regressed to high school dialogue and immature conversations. The sex scenes were unnecessary and predictable. Like I said, what happened???

I love her books - but there is no way to understate the lack of substance to a vast majority of this book. I am still ANXIOUSLY waiting the fourth book because I know it will be full of action. But this book was a lot of unnecessary dialogue, and I agree with the other reviews that it is repetitive- i.e., casteel is inappropriate, poppy is naive and inexperienced, and Kieran is annoyed. Also when is the joining happening, come on ...

I have been reading fantasy books for years and this series is hands down the best I have ever read. I’m definitely going to reread the series, I miss the characters so much! Honestly the first 2 books were SO good. I literally recommended them to everyone! But this last book was so bad. Listen - spicy scenes are great but literally they have sex like every 50 pages and it literally doesn’t make sense why they would be having sex when they do 🤦🏻‍♀️ the writing is repetitive and predictable in this 3rd book. Poppy asks a lot of questions, Cas is inappropriate, Kieran is not surprised - I get it. I’m so sad because the story had so much potential...

This didn’t feel as exciting to read as the previous books. It felt like a chore to read. The only motivation I had to finish this book was because I bought it. If you want to spice thing up, take a shot when you see the words: stabbing/stabbed, knife/dagger, heart, question/questions. Author always brings up her stabbing him in the heart at least twice in every chapter.

I love this series and was really looking forward to this book but felt really let down. I found it to be slow moving with too much unnecessary dialogue. Pages were spent describing excess detail or to over state the obvious. I did not enjoy it even half as much as the first two. I’m really hoping the next is better and with more action. This series has so much potential.

Couldn’t stop reading!

I’m already finished reading this novel and now I’m mad at myself for not spacing it out more because I don’t even know when Jennifer plans to write the next story. I’m an avid reader and I’ve read plenty of fantasy/romance/adventure books in my time and this is by far one of the best series I’ve ever come across. Each of the characters is incredibly well-developed and the story is so immersive that I’ve found myself laughing out loud, crying and on the edge of my seat at other times. I can’t applaud Jennifer enough for her fantastically skillful writing and the beautiful, magical world she has created. Jennifer - please write more soon! I can hardly wait to learn what happens next! :)

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. But there are assumptions and deductions the reader makes throughout this book that the author feels obligated to drive home with pages and pages of dialogue. It gets frustrating and tedious. There are also times when the author poorly attempts to make the reader doubt what they have already guessed and then present again as a twist.... It just felt like the story was completed and then some editor came in and said “ It’s too short you need to add more everywhere.”

Save for a long plane ride

This book feels roughly 90% dialogue by volume. It often feels like the author wanted to tell an entirely different story, one that takes place hundreds of years ago in book time. But she told this one, so instead we spend the majority of the book having things explained to us. Interspersed with a spicy scene. The first book was great, the second one was good, this one is just lost. I got 600 pages in waiting for it to pick up and it was still explaining background. Better to save this one for when you need to kill 8 hours, because it’s very hard it get through otherwise. (Also the decision to name two frequently mentioned characters Malec and Malik is a baffling one.)

Save for a long plane ride

This book feels roughly 90% dialogue by volume. It often feels like the author wanted to tell an entirely different story, one that takes place hundreds of years ago in book time. But she told this one, so instead we spend the majority of the book having things explained to us. Interspersed with a spicy scene. The first book was great, the second one was good, this one is just lost. I got 600 pages in waiting for it to pick up and it was still explaining background. Better to save this one for when you need to kill 8 hours, because it’s very hard it get through otherwise. (Also the decision to name two frequently mentioned characters Malec and Malik is a baffling one.)

okay first off i love this series but this book in a way felt off, don’t get me wrong some parts were good, the wolven and the bond and the plot twists. however i feel like it was just written badly, in some chapters i felt like so much filler. parts felt off. i’m interested in what occurs after but this book is just something else. i hope the next will surpass this one.

I can’t tell you how much I have loved these books! The stories are familiar enough to imagine the concepts but with creative and interesting twists that captivate you. I also love that they are so long - I am a fast reader and these have kept me entertained for weeks without needing a break. I can’t wait for the next book!

Honestly…I’m at loss for words.

To say I’m excited for the fourth installment of this series is an understatement. I’m biting at the bit. Pulling my hair out. It’s an obsession. I’m really excited to see poppy break free of this “I have to keep my powers inside” version of herself that lasted about two and half books. I’m ready for revenge fueled poppy who takes and destroys and fights for her brother and the love of her life. To see her grow so much has been probably my all time favorite character development in any series I’ve read. So If like, you could release just a crumb of the next book, that’d be amazing, lol.

I kept wanting to like this book. Aside from the cliffhanger ending which I admit was great, the majority of the book was pretty boring. I even found myself wanting to skip portions just to get it over with but would keep reading just in case it got better.

I was engaged reading books 1 & 2 as the plot evolved naturally but this third book was a massive let down. I hope Armentrout can come back from this, the series had tremendous potential but this read offers nothing but poorly structured whiplash.

Okay, people are gonna hate me for this but... The sexual chemistry between Kieran Poppy and Casteel is astronomical. Anyway, this book was good, repetitive as other reviews have stated, (ironic- negative reviews about the repetition are getting repetitive) This book was a little slow and drawn out but a lot of crucial plot points happened amidst the chaotic repetition. I’d say it’s definitely worth the read if you’ve already invested your time in the first and second books.

I’ve read other reviews that say it’s the greatest but I just don’t see how. The firsts 2 were really good. This felt rush. She could’ve finished the series in the 3rd book. Instead, I got repetitive dialogues. The protagonists regressed to high school dialogue and immature conversations. The sex scenes were unnecessary and predictable. Like I said, what happened???

I love her books - but there is no way to understate the lack of substance to a vast majority of this book. I am still ANXIOUSLY waiting the fourth book because I know it will be full of action. But this book was a lot of unnecessary dialogue, and I agree with the other reviews that it is repetitive- i.e., casteel is inappropriate, poppy is naive and inexperienced, and Kieran is annoyed. Idk how other reviews can say it was boring or not as good as the other 2 books in the series. This one is my absolute FAVORITE. I have been reading fantasy books for years and this series is hands down the best I have ever read. I’m definitely going to reread the series, I miss the characters so much! Listen - spicy scenes are great but literally they have sex like every 50 pages and it literally doesn’t make sense why they would be having sex when they do 🤦🏻‍♀️ the writing is repetitive and predictable in this 3rd book. Poppy asks a lot of questions, Cas is inappropriate, Kieran is not surprised - I get it. I’m so sad because the story had so much potential...

This didn’t feel as exciting to read as the previous books. It felt like a chore to read. The only motivation I had to finish this book was because I bought it. If you want to spice thing up, take a shot when you see the words: stabbing/stabbed, knife/dagger, heart, question/questions. Author always brings up her stabbing him in the heart at least twice in every chapter.

I love this series and was really looking forward to this book but felt really let down. I found it to be slow moving with too much unnecessary dialogue. Pages were spent describing excess detail or to over state the obvious. I did not enjoy it even half as much as the first two. I’m really hoping the next is better and with more action. Couldn’t stop reading!

I’m already finished reading this novel and now I’m mad at myself for not spacing it out more because I don’t even know when Jennifer plans to write the next story. I’m an avid reader and I’ve read plenty of fantasy/romance/adventure books in my time and this is by far one of the best series I’ve ever come across. Each of the characters is incredibly well-developed and the story is so immersive that I’ve found myself laughing out loud, crying and on the edge of my seat at other times. I can’t applaud Jennifer enough for her fantastically skillful writing and the beautiful, magical world she has created. Jennifer - please write more soon! I can hardly wait to learn what happens next! :)

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. But there are assumptions and deductions the reader makes throughout this book that the author feels obligated to drive home with pages and pages of dialogue. It gets frustrating and tedious. There are also times when the author poorly attempts to make the reader doubt what they have already guessed and then present again as a twist.... It just felt like the story was completed and then some editor came in and said “ It’s too short you need to add more everywhere.”

ALOT of dialogue...

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. But there are assumptions and deductions the reader makes throughout this book that the author feels obligated to drive home with pages and pages of dialogue. It gets frustrating and tedious. There are also times when the author poorly attempts to make the reader doubt what they have already guessed and then present again as a twist.... It just felt like the story was completed and then some editor came in and said “ It’s too short you need to add more everywhere.”

I loved this book. Definitely good on world building and further character development. The plot twists kept me on my toes and eagerly reading as much as i could. Some parts felt rushed or maybe I’m not the best at comprehension but over all it was an amazing book and I can not wait for the story to continue. I have so many theories and ideas about what will happen next!

Save for a long plane ride

This book feels roughly 90% dialogue by volume. It often feels like the author wanted to tell an entirely different story, one that takes place hundreds of years ago in book time. But she told this one, so instead we spend the majority of the book having things explained to us. Interspersed with a spicy scene. The first book was great, the second one was good, this one is just lost. I got 600 pages in waiting for it to pick up and it was still explaining background. Better to save this one for when you need to kill 8 hours, because it’s very hard it get through otherwise. (Also the decision to name two frequently mentioned characters Malec and Malik is a baffling one.)

okay first off i love this series but this book in a way felt off, don’t get me wrong some parts were good, the wolven and the bond and the plot twists. however i feel like it was just written badly, in some chapters i felt like so much filler. parts felt off. i’m interested in what occurs after but this book is just something else. i hope the next will surpass this one.

I can’t tell you how much I have loved these books! The stories are familiar enough to imagine the concepts but with creative and interesting twists that captivate you. I also love that they are so long - I am a fast reader and these have kept me entertained for weeks without needing a break. I can’t wait for the next book!

Honestly…I’m at loss for words.

To say I’m excited for the fourth installment of this series is an understatement. I’m biting at the bit. Pulling my hair out. It’s an obsession. I’m really excited to see poppy break free of this “I have to keep my powers inside” version of herself that lasted about two and half books. I’m ready for revenge fueled poppy who takes and destroys and fights for her brother and the love of her life. To see her grow so much has been probably my all time favorite character development in any series I’ve read. So If like, you could release just a crumb of the next book, that’d be amazing, lol.

I kept wanting to like this book. Aside from the cliffhanger ending which I admit was great, the majority of the book was pretty boring. I even found myself wanting to skip portions just to get it over with but would keep reading just in case it got better.

I was engaged reading books 1 & 2 as the plot evolved naturally but this third book was a massive let down. I hope Armentrout can come back from this, the series had tremendous potential but this read offers nothing but poorly structured whiplash.

Okay, people are gonna hate me for this but... The sexual chemistry between Kieran Poppy and Casteel is astronomical. Anyway, this book was good, repetitive as other reviews have stated, (ironic- negative reviews about the repetition are getting repetitive) This book was a little slow and drawn out but a lot of crucial plot points happened amidst the chaotic repetition. I’d say it’s definitely worth the read if you’ve already invested your time in the first and second books.

I’ve read other reviews that say it’s the greatest but I just don’t see how. I will finish the book and hopefully I’ll enjoy the ending but honestly, even if she keeps writing more I can’t imagine I will purchase another.

The firsts 2 were really good. This felt rush. She could’ve finished the series in the 3rd book. Instead, I got repetitive dialogues. The protagonists regressed to high school dialogue and immature conversations. The sex scenes were unnecessary and predictable. Like I said, what happened???

I love her books - but there is no way to understate the lack of substance to a vast majority of this book. I am still ANXIOUSLY waiting the fourth book because I know it will be full of action. But this book was a lot of unnecessary dialogue, and I agree with the other reviews that it is repetitive- i.e., casteel is inappropriate, poppy is naive and inexperienced, and Kieran is annoyed. Also when is the joining happening, come on ...

Idk how other reviews can say it was boring or not as good as the other 2 books in the series. This one is my absolute FAVORITE. I have been reading fantasy books for years and this series is hands down the best I have ever read. I’m definitely going to reread the series, I miss the characters so much! Honestly the first 2 books were SO good. I literally recommended them to everyone! But this last book was so bad. Listen - spicy scenes are great but literally they have sex like every 50 pages and it literally doesn’t make sense why they would be having sex when they do 🤦🏻‍♀️ the writing is repetitive and predictable in this 3rd book. Poppy asks a lot of questions, Cas is inappropriate, Kieran is not surprised - I get it. I’m so sad because the story had so much potential...

This didn’t feel as exciting to read as the previous books. It felt like a chore to read. The only motivation I had to finish this book was because I bought it. If you want to spice thing up, take a shot when you see the words: stabbing/stabbed, knife/dagger, heart, question/questions. Author always brings up her stabbing him in the heart at least twice in every chapter.

Pages were spent describing excess detail or to over state the obvious. I did not enjoy it even half as much as the first two. I’m really hoping the next is better and with more action. Couldn’t stop reading!

I’m already finished reading this novel and now I’m mad at myself for not spacing it out more because I don’t even know when Jennifer plans to write the next story. I’m an avid reader and I’ve read plenty of fantasy/romance/adventure books in my time and this is by far one of the best series I’ve ever come across. Each of the characters is incredibly well-developed and the story is so immersive that I’ve found myself laughing out loud, crying and on the edge of my seat at other times. I can’t applaud Jennifer enough for her fantastically skillful writing and the beautiful, magical world she has created. Jennifer - please write more soon! I can hardly wait to learn what happens next! :)

Couldn’t stop reading!

I’m already finished reading this novel and now I’m mad at myself for not spacing it out more because I don’t even know when Jennifer plans to write the next story. I’m an avid reader and I’ve read plenty of fantasy/romance/adventure books in my time and this is by far one of the best series I’ve ever come across. Each of the characters is incredibly well-developed and the story is so immersive that I’ve found myself laughing out loud, crying and on the edge of my seat at other times. I can’t applaud Jennifer enough for her fantastically skillful writing and the beautiful, magical world she has created. Jennifer - please write more soon! I can hardly wait to learn what happens next! :)

Not as good as the other two but still amazing

Jennifer never fails to impress. This was probably my least favorite of the three released, but still good nonetheless. Lots of world building and mushy couple moments. I realized this book was all lovers no enemies and that’s why I prefer the other two lol. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

ALOT of dialogue...

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. But there are assumptions and deductions the reader makes throughout this book that the author feels obligated to drive home with pages and pages of dialogue. It gets frustrating and tedious. There are also times when the author poorly attempts to make the reader doubt what they have already guessed and then present again as a twist.... It just felt like the story was completed and then some editor came in and said “ It’s too short you need to add more everywhere.”

Some parts felt rushed or maybe I’m not the best at comprehension but over all it was an amazing book and I can not wait for the story to continue. Save for a long plane ride

This book feels roughly 90% dialogue by volume. It often feels like the author wanted to tell an entirely different story, one that takes place hundreds of years ago in book time. But she told this one, so instead we spend the majority of the book having things explained to us. Interspersed with a spicy scene. The first book was great, the second one was good, this one is just lost. I got 600 pages in waiting for it to pick up and it was still explaining background. Better to save this one for when you need to kill 8 hours, because it’s very hard it get through otherwise. (Also the decision to name two frequently mentioned characters Malec and Malik is a baffling one.)

The story never stops moving. Not once do you find yourself wishing to skip forward or to get to “the exciting parts”. Just when you think you have found out a secret, the secret changes. Amazing.

okay first off i love this series but this book in a way felt off, don’t get me wrong some parts were good, the wolven and the bond and the plot twists. however i feel like it was just written badly, in some chapters i felt like so much filler. parts felt off. i’m interested in what occurs after but this book is just something else. i hope the next will surpass this one.

I can’t tell you how much I have loved these books! The stories are familiar enough to imagine the concepts but with creative and interesting twists that captivate you. I also love that they are so long - I am a fast reader and these have kept me entertained for weeks without needing a break. I can’t wait for the next book!

Honestly…I’m at loss for words.

To say I’m excited for the fourth installment of this series is an understatement. I’m biting at the bit. Pulling my hair out. It’s an obsession. I’m really excited to see poppy break free of this “I have to keep my powers inside” version of herself that lasted about two and half books. I’m ready for revenge fueled poppy who takes and destroys and fights for her brother and the love of her life. To see her grow so much has been probably my all time favorite character development in any series I’ve read. So If like, you could release just a crumb of the next book, that’d be amazing, lol.

I kept wanting to like this book. Aside from the cliffhanger ending which I admit was great, the majority of the book was pretty boring. I even found myself wanting to skip portions just to get it over with but would keep reading just in case it got better.

I was engaged reading books 1 & 2 as the plot evolved naturally but this third book was a massive let down. I hope Armentrout can come back from this, the series had tremendous potential but this read offers nothing but poorly structured whiplash.

Okay, people are gonna hate me for this but... The sexual chemistry between Kieran Poppy and Casteel is astronomical. Anyway, this book was good, repetitive as other reviews have stated, (ironic- negative reviews about the repetition are getting repetitive) This book was a little slow and drawn out but a lot of crucial plot points happened amidst the chaotic repetition. I’d say it’s definitely worth the read if you’ve already invested your time in the first and second books.

I’ve read other reviews that say it’s the greatest but I just don’t see how. I will finish the book and hopefully I’ll enjoy the ending but honestly, even if she keeps writing more I can’t imagine I will purchase another.

The firsts 2 were really good. This felt rush. She could’ve finished the series in the 3rd book. Instead, I got repetitive dialogues. The protagonists regressed to high school dialogue and immature conversations. The sex scenes were unnecessary and predictable. Like I said, what happened???

I love her books - but there is no way to understate the lack of substance to a vast majority of this book. I am still ANXIOUSLY waiting the fourth book because I know it will be full of action. But this book was a lot of unnecessary dialogue, and I agree with the other reviews that it is repetitive- i.e., casteel is inappropriate, poppy is naive and inexperienced, and Kieran is annoyed. Also when is the joining happening, come on ...

Idk how other reviews can say it was boring or not as good as the other 2 books in the series. This one is my absolute FAVORITE. I have been reading fantasy books for years and this series is hands down the best I have ever read. I’m definitely going to reread the series, I miss the characters so much! Listen - spicy scenes are great but literally they have sex like every 50 pages and it literally doesn’t make sense why they would be having sex when they do 🤦🏻‍♀️ the writing is repetitive and predictable in this 3rd book. Poppy asks a lot of questions, Cas is inappropriate, Kieran is not surprised - I get it. I’m so sad because the story had so much potential...

This didn’t feel as exciting to read as the previous books. It felt like a chore to read. The only motivation I had to finish this book was because I bought it. If you want to spice thing up, take a shot when you see the words: stabbing/stabbed, knife/dagger, heart, question/questions. Author always brings up her stabbing him in the heart at least twice in every chapter.

Felt let down

I love this series and was really looking forward to this book but felt really let down. I found it to be slow moving with too much unnecessary dialogue. Pages were spent describing excess detail or to over state the obvious. I did not enjoy it even half as much as the first two. I’m really hoping the next is better and with more action. Couldn’t stop reading!

I’m already finished reading this novel and now I’m mad at myself for not spacing it out more because I don’t even know when Jennifer plans to write the next story. I’m an avid reader and I’ve read plenty of fantasy/romance/adventure books in my time and this is by far one of the best series I’ve ever come across. Each of the characters is incredibly well-developed and the story is so immersive that I’ve found myself laughing out loud, crying and on the edge of my seat at other times. I can’t applaud Jennifer enough for her fantastically skillful writing and the beautiful, magical world she has created. Jennifer - please write more soon! I can hardly wait to learn what happens next! :)

Jennifer never fails to impress. This was probably my least favorite of the three released, but still good nonetheless. Lots of world building and mushy couple moments. I realized this book was all lovers no enemies and that’s why I prefer the other two lol. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. But there are assumptions and deductions the reader makes throughout this book that the author feels obligated to drive home with pages and pages of dialogue. It gets frustrating and tedious. There are also times when the author poorly attempts to make the reader doubt what they have already guessed and then present again as a twist.... It just felt like the story was completed and then some editor came in and said “ It’s too short you need to add more everywhere.”

Save for a long plane ride

This book feels roughly 90% dialogue by volume. It often feels like the author wanted to tell an entirely different story, one that takes place hundreds of years ago in book time. But she told this one, so instead we spend the majority of the book having things explained to us. Interspersed with a spicy scene. The first book was great, the second one was good, this one is just lost. I got 600 pages in waiting for it to pick up and it was still explaining background. Better to save this one for when you need to kill 8 hours, because it’s very hard it get through otherwise. (Also the decision to name two frequently mentioned characters Malec and Malik is a baffling one.)

Honestly…I’m at loss for words.

To say I’m excited for the fourth installment of this series is an understatement. I’m biting at the bit. Pulling my hair out. It’s an obsession. I’m really excited to see poppy break free of this “I have to keep my powers inside” version of herself that lasted about two and half books. I’m ready for revenge fueled poppy who takes and destroys and fights for her brother and the love of her life. To see her grow so much has been probably my all time favorite character development in any series I’ve read. So If like, you could release just a crumb of the next book, that’d be amazing, lol.

Okay, people are gonna hate me for this but... The sexual chemistry between Kieran Poppy and Casteel is astronomical. Anyway, this book was good, repetitive as other reviews have stated, (ironic- negative reviews about the repetition are getting repetitive) This book was a little slow and drawn out but a lot of crucial plot points happened amidst the chaotic repetition. I’d say it’s definitely worth the read if you’ve already invested your time in the first and second books.

The firsts 2 were really good. This felt rush. She could’ve finished the series in the 3rd book. Instead, I got repetitive dialogues. The protagonists regressed to high school dialogue and immature conversations. The sex scenes were unnecessary and predictable. Like I said, what happened???

Listen - spicy scenes are great but literally they have sex like every 50 pages and it literally doesn’t make sense why they would be having sex when they do 🤦🏻‍♀️ the writing is repetitive and predictable in this 3rd book. Idk how other reviews can say it was boring or not as good as the other 2 books in the series. This one is my absolute FAVORITE. I have been reading fantasy books for years and this series is hands down the best I have ever read. I’m definitely going to reread the series, I miss the characters so much! I love her details and the character developments. Cas and poppy are goals!

Honestly the first 2 books were SO good. I literally recommended them to everyone! But this last book was so bad. Listen - spicy scenes are great but literally they have sex like every 50 pages and it literally doesn’t make sense why they would be having sex when they do 🤦🏻‍♀️ the writing is repetitive and predictable in this 3rd book. Poppy asks a lot of questions, Cas is inappropriate, Kieran is not surprised - I get it. I’m so sad because the story had so much potential...

This didn’t feel as exciting to read as the previous books. It felt like a chore to read. The only motivation I had to finish this book was because I bought it. If you want to spice thing up, take a shot when you see the words: stabbing/stabbed, knife/dagger, heart, question/questions. Author always brings up her stabbing him in the heart at least twice in every chapter.

Very disappointed

I waited so long for this book. Hyped it up for months to my husband and friends- I was so let down. There is so much dialogue and hardly any moving plot whatsoever. Hugely disappointed

Felt let down

I love this series and was really looking forward to this book but felt really let down. I found it to be slow moving with too much unnecessary dialogue. Pages were spent describing excess detail or to over state the obvious. I did not enjoy it even half as much as the first two. I’m really hoping the next is better and with more action. This series has so much potential.

Couldn’t stop reading!

I’m already finished reading this novel and now I’m mad at myself for not spacing it out more because I don’t even know when Jennifer plans to write the next story. I’m an avid reader and I’ve read plenty of fantasy/romance/adventure books in my time and this is by far one of the best series I’ve ever come across. Each of the characters is incredibly well-developed and the story is so immersive that I’ve found myself laughing out loud, crying and on the edge of my seat at other times. I can’t applaud Jennifer enough for her fantastically skillful writing and the beautiful, magical world she has created. Jennifer - please write more soon! I can hardly wait to learn what happens next! :)

Not as good as the other two but still amazing

Jennifer never fails to impress. This was probably my least favorite of the three released, but still good nonetheless. Lots of world building and mushy couple moments. I realized this book was all lovers no enemies and that’s why I prefer the other two lol. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

ALOT of dialogue...

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. But there are assumptions and deductions the reader makes throughout this book that the author feels obligated to drive home with pages and pages of dialogue. It gets frustrating and tedious. There are also times when the author poorly attempts to make the reader doubt what they have already guessed and then present again as a twist.... It just felt like the story was completed and then some editor came in and said “ It’s too short you need to add more everywhere.”

I loved this book. Definitely good on world building and further character development. The plot twists kept me on my toes and eagerly reading as much as i could. Some parts felt rushed or maybe I’m not the best at comprehension but over all it was an amazing book and I can not wait for the story to continue. I have so many theories and ideas about what will happen next!

Save for a long plane ride

This book feels roughly 90% dialogue by volume. It often feels like the author wanted to tell an entirely different story, one that takes place hundreds of years ago in book time. But she told this one, so instead we spend the majority of the book having things explained to us. Interspersed with a spicy scene. The first book was great, the second one was good, this one is just lost. I got 600 pages in waiting for it to pick up and it was still explaining background. Better to save this one for when you need to kill 8 hours, because it’s very hard it get through otherwise. (Also the decision to name two frequently mentioned characters Malec and Malik is a baffling one.)

The story never stops moving. Not once do you find yourself wishing to skip forward or to get to “the exciting parts”. Just when you think you have found out a secret, the secret changes. Amazing.
